The Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act (LCSA) was signed into law in 2016 to modernize the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). The LCSA empowers the EPA to request more up-front test data and information to characterize hazards, uses, releases, exposure scenarios, etc., meaning that more knowledge and effort is required to achieve a successful registration than ever.
